Educational Health Curriculum Platform
The Great Body Shop, published by The Children’s Health Market, is a nationally recognized comprehensive health education curriculum for Pre-K through 8th grade students. Since 1987, over 5 million students have grown up learning about health from The Great Body Shop. The platform delivers evidence-based curriculum covering physical health, nutrition, safety, mental health, social-emotional learning, and substance abuse prevention to schools across all 50 states.

Educational Platform Scalability and Reliability
Customer Challenges
As demand for online health education surged post-pandemic, The Children’s Health Market’s legacy infrastructure struggled to handle simultaneous access from thousands of teachers and students during critical back-to-school periods.
Every August and September, the platform experienced outages during peak usage windows, disrupting classrooms and slowing new district onboarding. Educational videos and interactive content loaded slowly, particularly in rural school districts with limited bandwidth. The desktop-centric platform delivered inconsistent performance across tablets and Chromebooks, now widely used in classrooms.
Additionally, FERPA compliance requirements required secure audit logging, encryption, and strict access controls that were not fully supported in the legacy environment. There was limited proactive monitoring, no structured incident response framework, and scaling adjustments were reactive rather than automated.
The organization required a modern cloud architecture — along with a managed services partner capable of delivering continuous monitoring, security oversight, incident response, and operational optimization.
Scalable EdTech Infrastructure for 5+ Million Students
Our Solution
CloudiQS designed and implemented a modern AWS architecture optimized for scalability, security, and performance.
We deployed Amazon CloudFront for global edge content delivery, AWS Elastic Beanstalk with Auto Scaling to dynamically adjust capacity (scaling from 4 to 20+ instances during peak periods), and AWS MediaConvert for adaptive bitrate video streaming to support low-bandwidth environments.
Amazon RDS MySQL Multi-AZ with read replicas was implemented to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. Security and compliance controls were strengthened using AWS KMS encryption, CloudTrail audit logging, AWS WAF protection, and structured IAM governance. CI/CD pipelines were introduced to enable same-day curriculum updates.
