RootsTravel.net – Website Migrations
RootsTravel.net is an online travel platform that connects users with curated, culturally immersive travel experiences across the globe. As demand for digital travel planning and booking increased, the business needed to ensure its website was always available, responsive, and secure — especially during high-traffic periods and promotional campaigns.

Reliability, Security and Scalability
Customer Challenges
Legacy hosting environment struggled with uptime and scaling during traffic spikes Limited infrastructure automation made deployments error-prone and slow Security controls were minimal and difficult to maintain consistently across environments No clear containerization strategy or orchestration platform Required a fast migration path with minimal downtime for a live production website
Needed high availability and failover capability without increasing operational complexity
Secure / with No Single Point of Failure
Our Solution
CloudiQS successfully migrated a full website to AWS, rearchitecting the application to run in a secure, containerized environment using Amazon ECS (Elastic Container Service).
We began by auditing the existing hosting environment, identifying key services, and mapping dependencies. The application was containerized using Docker, and infrastructure was defined through Terraform, enabling repeatable and consistent deployments.
To ensure high availability and resilience, the new environment was deployed using:
- Amazon ECS with Fargate for serverless container management
- Application Load Balancer (ALB) for smart traffic distribution across tasks
- Amazon Route 53 for DNS routing with health checks
- Multi-AZ deployment to eliminate single points of failure
Security was significantly enhanced with:
- AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) for fine-grained role control
- AWS Certificate Manager for automated SSL/TLS
- Amazon CloudWatch Logs, AWS Config, and CloudTrail for visibility and compliance
- Secure container image management using Amazon ECR
The deployment pipeline was built with CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
It enables automated deployments on every update and has rollback capability in case of failure.
